Out with the Old, inn with the New!

One of my favorite activities at year end is to make a summary of what that year meant to me and to try and figure out what I want for the new year. You maybe remember this post, 2012 resolutions, where I managed to gather all the things I wanted from the past year. I am happy to say that most of those were successful except for the one with getting a cat and reading Harry Potter (Who am I kidding, I don't like Harry Potter or Hobbits and all the other creatures that might come along). All in all, we had a pretty amazing year planning our wedding and making the most of our new Swiss life.

For 2013 the list is very short: travel. I think it is the best way to relax and to have fun.

Merry Christmas!

Since 2 days we are home at my parents house. It is a very magical time and I am extremely happy to be home with my family. There is no greater feeling than being home with your loved ones. I hope you all have that and you enjoy the holidays as much as possible.

Merry Christmas!

Les petites choses

The web is full these day of Gift Guides, one better than the other. I don't know about you, but I am one of those impulsive shoppers and I don't plan all my gifting to the last details. I sometimes happen to find the perfect gift at the last moment and when it comes to family and close friends it doesn't have to be Christmas to give them a small something. This is one of the reasons why pretty little things are always nice to have around. Here is a list of the latest ones I came across.

Campari calendar 2013 or how to look stunning in red

With year end approaching, everyone needs a nice calendar at home. This year it fell on my hands the Campari Calendar for 2013 that stars Penelope Cruz photographed by Kristian Schuller on a stunning visual voyage around superstitions. What I find incredibly beautiful, besides Penelope Cruz, that is one of my favorite actresses, is the fact that they chose red for all her outfits. She looks gorgeous and if makes me think twice about wearing this bright color. I love red nails, red lipstick, red shoes, but an all red dress or outfit is not something I would chose for myself. Maybe you have to be a gorgeous brunette to pull it off...Take a look and feel free to comment.

Christmas decorations

I believe one of the best things about Christmas are also the decorations. They help us create the hole scenery that gets us in the festive mood. Every year I am amazed with the beautiful things you can find around the city. This weekend, we spent a very nice day in Luzern and we finished the day in Einsiedeln where besides the beautiful monastery, we also got to experience another Christmas market, so popular this time of year.

Christmas Cookies that you can buy at every market.
Should I even say how delicious and addictive they are?!

Aren't they just precious? I so want them in my tree...

Life lately

It has been a very nice period for us. We had my parents over for a week almost a month ago and now Traian's Mum is here. We love having family over since we don't get to see them every day so often and the time we spend together is always very precious. Also when we have guests we get to travel a bit around and play tourists. Unfortunately with winter upon us, walking around in the cold is not always fun. But luckily for us there are a lot of nice coffee places where we can sip a warm cup of tea or, my favorite, a capuccino.

My Favorite Winter Coat

Every winter I look for a new coat. It has to keep me warm, to look good and to be a bit different that the ones I have already in my closet. This year I went for a Zara coat, that has that biker look, so popular this season. I love the cut, the zip side closure, the collar and the leather effect combination sleeves. I wear it every day and feel incredibly stylish. What do you think?

Stylish Dreams

You know when you discover something that you really like and at the beginning you are walking on unknown territory, sometimes amazed, sometimes scared, but always eager to experiment more? Well that's how I feel about blogging, ever since I started 2 years ago. It all began with my passion for writing, that got combined with the desire of keeping a scrapbook of all the experiences I have. And it became this journey where a hole new world unveiled to me. I love the world of blogging and I finally think I found  my place in it. It comes under a new name, www.stylishdreams.com, and it will replace The Book of Faces. Stylish Dreams will be a collection of things I like, of experiences I want to treasure, it will be the place where I try to define my style while trying to make your experience as enjoyable as possible. So let the adventure continue with new outfits, new pretty little things, new travel experiences and with all new stylish dreams and ideas.

Special thanks to one talented friend that helped me style this page. You can find her at Medejo

Welcome to my beautiful place!

Romanian Design

1st of December is the Romanian National Day and we celebrated it yesterday with a party that was combined with two of our friends birthday. It was very special because I also got this great dress made by a very talented Romanian designer, Adrian Oianu. His latest project, "The Romanian T-shirt"  had a ethnic theme and it was inspired by the traditional Romanian costume. All the creations mimic the comfort, lightness and femininity clearly outlined in the traditional white shirt. The details on the T-shirt are all very old and are handmade. We have a very old and beautiful national costume and to get to wear such a special design on our national day made me feel very proud. It is just so cool when designers find inspiration in the traditions of your nation.

What do you think? Would you wear an ethic design inspired outfit? Are you proud of your national heritage?
