Friday mindset

This is it, one of the most busy weeks I had in a while. I feel so tired and I so need this two days to chill and relax. But tomorrow I have big plans that start with a good workout in the morning, then a vintage fair in the city and a hen party in the evening. So hopefully Sunday will be the day of rest. Also I find Pablo Picasso's words helpful, especially after such an exhausting work week. I hope you had a nice week and that your weekend will reward you with great experiences. And here are some links for a lazy Friday evening.

I just discovered Karen Souza and this song is my new obsession. The voice, the intensity, the mystery oh and Paris...

The best recipe of American Pancakes I have tried so far. I totally recommend it!

A love story between a Venn diagram and a Spreadsheet found here.

If you plan a travel adventure, this post will help you find the best hotel, restaurants and things to see on your journey.

Some tips on how to look good in photos from Garance.

Am I the only one you wants to see this Sofia Copolla movie?

I love vintage and here is someone that made a job out of it. And her home, precious little details...

This makes me sad and also question what is behind all the fashion brands we buy everyday.

And if you are in Zurich you might want to check out the vintage market tomorrow.

Stylish homes - the perfect home office

I haven't had a desk in my home ever since I moved out of my parents home, and that was a long time ago. I never really felt like I needed one in the flats I lived, maybe also because I spend all day at work behind a desk, and coming home to do the same, is not something you want. But now, the idea of a nice home office seems to appeal to me, and I found some really nice ones on Pinterest. I could see myself loving a space like this in my future home. Basically all you need is a bookshelf, a desk, and a chair that stands out. The rest is just up to your imagination.

I like this one because it is just so simple. I believe the rug and the other accessories
make all the difference.

This is more complex, since it also has a sitting area where you could just enjoy a nice book.

I love yellow, so this is just perfect for me.

This is bit more classy. It makes me think of a modern Madame Bovary sitting there
and looking through the window. Still the chair is a keeper.

OK, you caught me. I clearly have a chair obsession...

This is more shabby chic, but yet again a chair can make all the difference.

White Sneakers

I am not much of a sporty wear kind of girl. I do casual, but not sporty, except when I go to the gym, of course. But with Converse sneakers I feel casual, sporty, classy and so comfortable. I have had a few pairs along the years and my latest addition are the white ones. I normally don't wear white shoes, but when it comes to sneakers they are so perfect. They complete a casual outfit, like the one in the pictures. I wore it for a walk though the city on a chilly Saturday in March.

Have the best weekend ever!

Me and hubby, last weekend.

And here comes my favourite part of the week, Friday night and the weekend. This week was uneventful, but sunny and filled with nice dinners. Tomorrow morning we are heading to Milan for a get together with some good friends. We expect to have two very nice days, even though the weather forecast shows only rain.

The quote below made me laugh. If you think about it, it is kinda true...whenever I spend a hole day in sweatpants I start feeling a bit depressed. So don't get too cozy, especially if Karl is watching :)

Here you can create an idea board that will help you when decorating your home.

Have you ever seen the series called Creature Comforts? If you love animals you are surelly going to enjoy this video.

If you are looking for the perfect curling iron, here is a helpful post on how to chose one.

I love this look for the summer. The colours of the skirt are really nice.

If you are thinking of doing a juice cleanse, you should read this three day diary. It is very funny.

The perfect video for this melody, that I simply love.

Thailand reloaded - some old pictures

I am not one to live in the past, but when it comes to revisit memories by looking at old photos, I am in. I remember ever since I was a child, that opening the drawer with old photos made me so happy, like I was discovering something so precious. So today I looked at some old photos from our travels and I stopped at the ones from our trip to Thailand, from earlier this year. Even if it was not too long ago, I miss that beach, we had the best of time and looking at the pictures has made me love that place even more.

Stylish homes

Source here

Spring is here! I am saying this while sitting on our balcony, under an umbrella that is suppose to protect me from the sun and thinking of how good everything looks when it is sunny. Including our homes (our flat seems to have been transformed since sun light set in, on Sunday morning). Everything has come to life especially if you count the fresh flowers that are now available at every street corner. I simply love flowers in a home and I find myself missing them if I forget to replace the old ones. I always choose one colour and one type of flower (yellow tulips were my favourite this season). Maybe because they look sophisticated even though it is not some fancy flower arrangement. Also the vase can  be something improvised like what is in the pictures below, or you can just buy a nice vase (I have different round shapes from Ikea in hot pink and blue). And here is some inspiration if you want to have a Spring home.

Fun and sunny weekend

source Here

I love the fact that it is Friday again, especially since we are suppose to have our first days of Spring this weekend. We are planning a barbecue to welcome the warmer times and we are thinking of plans for this summer. Also it's the year when I turn thirty and the words above inspire me not to make such a big deal of the age thing. As long as we have our health, there is nothing stopping us from feeling young, beautiful, awesome...you name it. Have a great sunny weekend!

If you need inspiration for a warm weekend outfit here is a suggestion. I like the necklace and the hat.

If you live in Bucharest, you are going to enjoy this new tumblr series of When you live in Bucharest.

You really have to love the way Garance talks about boobs and buts...oh, and she is right :)

If you live or plan to visit L.A. here is a guide to the best restaurants.

I listened to a lot of Josh Groban this week. I like this song a lot.

If you feel like you lack inspiration in the kitchen and you don't know what to cook here is a website where you select what you have in your fridge and it gives you recipes. Brilliant idea!

We are big fans of salads and lately we are eating a lot of spinach, avocado and chickpeas. Here is great recipe, if you want to try something new.

The magic of Cinque Terre

As you might remember for Easter we were in Italy and on Easter Sunday we were exploring the 5 villages of Cinque Terre. We were amazed by the architecture of the area and the fact that the sea and the houses seem to blend so well together. Looking at the cliffs and at the sea you wonder how it was possible to transform that area in a liveable place. But then you see the landscapes and the terraces that were built over the centuries and you know that those people have a special connection with the sea. These are fishermen villages, and if you could manage to ignore all the tourists, you would walk between the boats on the small streets, take a very interesting walk on the coast and enjoy the most amazing views. We chose to see only three villages: Riomaggiore, Manarola and Vernazza. We didn't want to rush, we wanted to take as much as possible from this trip.

Also it was my first trip when I took picture with my new camera (actually is the old camera that belonged to Traian as he got a more sophisticated one). I liked it and I hope to become better and better so that I can take more photos for this blog. So here it goes, a few of the picture are mine and a few are Traian's.

The mix of colours is just breathtaking. I hope I convinced you to visit this area! It is truly unique.
