Life in the country side

Where we live now, in Bassesdorf we are basically in a small town that is in the country side. I couldn't be more happy with this, because I got so fed up with living in Bucharest, that being away from the city is just what we needed. We refuse the possibility of moving to Zurich, that is a 15 minutes train ride from our place, because the peace and quiet of the countryside is just what we need. And I should not forget to mention the beautiful landscapes and the forest, that are the best excuse to go on long walks and bike rides. In one of our last biking expeditions we ended up discovering a horse farm. This reminded me of the time we went horse riding last year.

Relaxing on a Saturday

This weekend is a long one for the Swiss residents (bank holiday on Monday) and for us is the weekend before our much awaited London city break. On Wednesday we are flying to Shakespeare's land and for a few days we will enjoy the city and let's not forget, Coldplay live on the Emirates. So our plan for this weekend was to relax as much as possible and to do some stuff around the house. Because the weather was extremely nice, in the afternoon we went for a long walk through the crowded streets of the city and ended up at the botanical garden. It was really cool since it was so peaceful and we could really enjoy the nature and the sun.

I love that you can see the ray of sunshine in this picture

Our evening ended at home having a glass of wine on our terrace.

I wish you all an amazing week!

Les Petites Choses

While in Bucharest for the weekend my friend took me to a home decoration store called Bell'Agio Casa where I was pleased to see some really nice pieces of furniture and home accessories. I managed to take a few pictures of some things that I liked.

I think I might be obsessed with bookstores and lately I discovered that I love taking pictures of the books on shelves. It might just be that I want this in my home, but in any case love how they look.

Wedding shoes inspiration

I am currently looking for the perfect bridal shoes. They have to be glam, special and also comfortable. And we all know that finding comfortable high heels is not an easy task. Let me show you a few models that caught my eye around the web.

Jimmy Choo crystal-embellished satin and suede sandals

Miu Miu glitter-finish leather sandals

Jimmy Choo garland glitter-finish leather sandals

Giuseppe Zanotti beige suede "Alien" chiffon ruffle sandals

As you can see I am not a big fan of white, and I discovered that the right amount of glitter might just be what a girl needs on her wedding day. Also I wouldn't mind for a splash of color but I didn't find anything that suits me so far. If you have any ideas that might help my search feel free to share. I am more than open to suggestions.

Girly weekend

Last weekend I was in Bucharest for some wedding business. The big day is getting closer and closer and our there are still a lot of things that need to be done. I am happy that I found my wedding dress. It is a gorgeous Maria Lucia Hohan creation and I can't wait to wear it on the big day. But besides all the errands I had to do, I also enjoyed the company of some close friends and family. My mother in law is one of them and I am just lucky to have her in my life. So most of the weekend was spent doing girly activities, like getting fresh pedicures and manicures or getting a new haircut, shopping, eating in nice restaurants, seeing a play or simply chatting like girls do. It was a nice but short weekend. I wish I just had more time to spend with friends.

Favorite TV shows

This weekend is a rainy one in Zurich and what better way to enjoy a rainy day than sit in your cozy apartment watching a TV show. I find that so relaxing... So I put together a list of the Tv series I am following now, and maybe you can share some of your favorite shows also. I am always looking for new ones :))

New Girl - even if it sounds like a girly shows, it's not. Me and Traian we are watching it together and we find it very funny. The characters are great, and Zooey Deschanel is such a sweet girl that you like her no matter what.

Modern Family - well from the name you can easily figure out it is a family show. It has great humor and you can't help it but like every character from Gloria, the sexy latina bombshell to Luke, the younger kid of the bunch.

Community -  a show about a study group at a community college. The dialogues are very well written and the stories it tells in every episode are often centered around a parody of famous movies or other Tv shows. We like it a lot, especially the first 2 series.

How I met your mother - let's just say that it is Legen...wait for it...dary. When I first watched it I had the same feeling as watching Friends. The couple Lily and Marshal are adorable and Barney is ....just Barney.

The Good Wife - my favorite lawyer show. I am a big fan of lawyer shows ever since Ally McBeal and this one has good law references and also drama. Ah and also MR. Big.

Gossip Girl - last on my list, the show I watch mostly for the fashion. If you want incredible style, big labels and good looking people than this is the show to watch. The story after the first 2 seasons pretty much repeats itself, so if you are looking for the surprise element, don't watch it :)

Les Petites Choses

We were walking though the town of Saint Ursanne in the French part of Switzerland and this was displayed in the street. So chic and french...

Name tags for the spices in the garden, found in the small town of Laufenburg. Now all I have to do is start gardening...

I made this pancake recipe and it was delicious. I only had pineapple in the house on Sunday morning but you can add all sorts of fruits and don't forget the maple syrup. I also added the plum jam homemade by my mother.

Life lately

This past few days summer seamed to have gained control over Switzerland and we spend most of our time outdoors. Still I don't know if I am ready for the summer heat. I mean I love summer but my spring wardrobe is not ready to back off yet especially since I just got some nice jackets that I want to enjoy wearing. So please spring stick around some more.

Yellow flowers, just adore them.
