Weekend preview

This week is a short week for us, since we are celebrating Easter and we are off to Italy tomorrow morning for a long weekend (road trip yeyyyy). We plan to see the magic area of Cinque Terre and a bit of Florence. But before I go, I gathered a list of cool things from around the web, that I hope you will find interesting. A lot of other bloggers do it, so no points for being original, but I liked it and I want to try it myself. Here is goes. Have a nice Easter weekend!

If you had to do a list like this what would you put on it?

A fashion show that has amazing design, Adrian Oianu, Romanian Punk, can be seen here

I love this MLH dress that Jennifer Lopez wore to an event.

I think this series of When you live in Amsterdam is very funny.

Holiday in Thailand, find more in this post

This outfit makes me want to go shopping.

Isn't this chair just fabulous?

I am so looking forward to the return of Mad Men

The Great Gatsby is on my watch list.

This song was on my playlist this week.

Stylish homes

Having a home, or a space that you love and feel comfortable in, is for me equally important as having a place that reflects the personality of those who live in it. Transforming a place from something plane into something more special can easily be done with a bit of creativity and a few good ideas. So here I am, always looking for new inspiration and I decided to share my findings with you. This time I will stop at the outdoor space, a terrace or a balcony that can look so gorgeous if we just style it a bit. I remember when we first moved to Switzerland that I was amazed with what people could do with their porch. Here are a few ideas.

1. A small patio, with the nicest pillows and of course the wooden floors
that give it that comfy touch

2. I love hydrangea flowers and the terrace lamps that make every summer evening
feel like you are on holiday

3. As much as we love the sun, we need an umbrella, and I'll always go for a coloured one.

4. Choose a sun bed that simply invites you to take a good book and relax in it

5. If space is limited, a simple chair and round table would do the magic as well.
And you can never go wrong with white

6. Or you can simply take the furniture from your home and move it on the balcony for
the summer. The natural light will do the rest...

If only summer would just decide to come once and for all...

Boyfriend jeans

I wanted a pair of perfect boyfriend jeans ever since this trend appeared on all the fashion blogs. But as the perfect boyfriend, this pair of jeans doesn't show up when you want them. So after two years of trying and looking for the perfect colour, fit and shape I have found my perfect boyfriend jeans. And again Zara doesn't disappoint, since there is where I got mine. I am pretty sure they will be my go to jeans for a long time. Take a look below.

Weekend in Rome

Here are a few pictures from my weekend in Rome. I took the trip in order to meet some old friends, that I haven't seen in almoust five years. I met the girls in 2006 at my first job and we spent 2 years working together and getting to know each other. One thing that brought us together was also the fact that we studied the same thing in college, actually with two of them I went to the same University only in different years. It is amazing how we get attached to people and even if you haven't seen them in ages, when you finally manage to meet or talk, things seem to fall into place like you know each other for a lifetime. It was like this all weekend, it was like time never passed and we enjoyed every minute. I already miss you ladies and I can only hope we manage to pull a weekend like this every other year.

A glass of Prosecco, as a welcome drink

Chatting with my friend that lives in Rome, on the stairs near the Pantheon. Funny story, she was telling
me how she met, on a random walk in the park, Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem. And she even got to
exchange pleasantries with them...When in Rome...

Buildings in Rome always are something more...I mean, you could get a great picture at every balcony.

Piazza Di Spagna must be my favourite place in the city. It is crazy how many people are there all the time, but nevertheless it has something to it that makes you feel like you can relax instantly.

We stayed on the stairs for a while, because the sun was shinning and we took in a bit of the italian scenery.

Romance in Rome

Fashion in Rome

La Fontana di Trevi, which for me, will always be associated with the best gelato in the world. My first time in Rome in 2010 I had gelato in the same place, and that is a taste that you can't forget.

Having a pizza on the street is a must if you ask me. Chances are it will be again the best pizza you ever had. We took ours and we were not disappointed.

And since we are talking about food, Andreea took us to a very cool supermarket, Eataly, that gathers traditional groceries from all around Italy. The store can be found in New York as well and in Japan. I loved it since I enjoy cooking italian food and I could have bought a lot of stuff. Too bad my luggage was not up to the challenge.

My friend Ana got a very nice souvenir, a red mask

The most beautiful blue sky I have seen in a while

Until we see each other again, we will always have Rome :)

All the pictures were taken by the ladies. They all know how to master a camera. And if you want to see more cool pictures you can visit Mihaela's blog here.

Dolce far niente

I will be in Rome for the weekend, enjoying the company of some very special ladies. I am pretty sure we will have a very great time. We have been planning this for a few months and now that is here I am beyond exited. The weather is suppose to be nice so guaranteed I will enjoy a gelatto. I am looking forward to some girl talk while enjoying good wine, some nice italian food, walks on the crowded streets of the old city and a bit of shopping.

Have a nice and sunny weekend!

Love, a thing or two

Last night while reading my usual blogs I got to Garance Dore page and read this. It made me laugh and think about the things that I learned about love. Garance does a pretty good summary, but I would add 3 more to her list:

- If he makes you laugh then he is pretty cool. I sometimes have the most insane laughs with Traian and I love that about us. Let's not forget the words of wisdom from Mr. Big: "After a while, you just want to be with the one that makes you laugh".

Source: google.com via Raven on Pinterest

- A man that is interested will know how to show it. Playing mysterious works only for like five minutes, afterwards he is just being him and if he is not paying enough attention to you, then you'd better move on.

- Taste in music is important, so don't kid yourself that if he doesn't like good music that does't bother you. It will...

Found this on Facebook and it made me laugh...

Talking about good music, Traian woke me up today with this song and since then I am obsessed.

And you? What did you learned about Love? Sharing is caring, I am just saying...

Weekend Wrap up

For us this weekend was pretty special. We had our 6 years anniversary ( since we started officially dating) to celebrate and also we got to spend some great time with our friends. It was relaxing and fun. Friday night we enjoyed dinner and a concert, Saturday was mostly chill around the house with people over to watch a movie and drink some fine wine, and today we had brunch with our friends. I love a weekend when I have time to relax, but also have fun with the people I love.

I have found a picture from 2007 same weekend when we spent a few days in the mountains. It was funny to look at those old pictures and realise how far we came in the last 6 years. They were pretty special for us, moving in together, then relocating to a new country, getting married and plenty of happy times spent together. I look forward to the next years and I can only hope they will bring us the same joy and happiness.

Same people, 6 years difference...

Cute baby alert. This is Thomas, and his parents, our friends. He is beyond cute. We adore him.

I mean seriously how cute can he be?! We are in love with him.

Have a great week!

Shopping in Singapore

I wanted to write about the Singapore experience and I realised that discussing this city had to touch also the shopping part. Let's face it, Singapore is a huge shopping mall. And not any shopping mall, but one of the most exclusivist I have seen. There were so many top brands and labels in one place, it was unbelievable. Orchard Road is only the most famous street that hosts more than 2 km of big malls. Marina Bay is another big attraction, not only for shopaholics but also for food passionates, or someone looking for a splendid view of the city. You wanna know what I got? Well nothing worth mentioning, since it wasn't that kind of holiday and to be honest, I felt like a kid in Candy land that wants to try everything but ends up getting nothing because he is just too excited :) So if you are ever planning a trip there, consider shopping as part of the package.

So proud to wear the Romanian T-shirt by designer Adrian Oianu

I absolutely love the window displays of the big fashion labels. They always tell a story. Some of my favourites in Singapore.
