Surprise Baby Shower

This Saturday I attended my first baby shower. It was a surprise party that we organized for Louise, our colleague. We schemed for about 2 months and we were so excited to see how the lovely Louise will react. We had a very nice and entertaining evening between us gals and I think the baby had a fun evening as well. We ate, drank, played games, shared experiences and important parenting and baby information, all while laughing and having fun. Our host was Flora, that managed to create the perfect setting for our gathering. Here are some photos from last night, all taken by my dear Dewi from Medejo.

First very busy week in a while

Girlies, I have just finished one of my busiest weeks in the last couple of months. I'm a bit tired but so happy that I have all this good things coming my way. As you know I started working on Monday (after 7 months) and we also have a very dear friend in town for two weeks. So my time was pretty much divided between playing tourist with my friend and working my ass off at work. About work, it's great, I love it, but as any new job, it can get pretty overwhelming. There is a lot to learn, everything is on high speed but I just love everything about it, and can't wait for the new week to start. One thing I still have to figure out is how to make time for my blogging activities. I just think that this week I missed a lot of great posts from the blogs I usually read and I haven't found that extra hour to write. I just have to prioritize better I guess... Now I'm trying to concentrate this week in one post and I want to share with you my first collages, made by my humble person :) Here goes this week!

Fun relaxing Saturday

This weekend was all about relaxing, about laying back and doing nothing. We discovered this great place near Basel, a water resort, Aquabasilea where you can spend a full day of swimming in the most amazing pool area, soaking in the sauna or simply enjoy a drink at the pool bar. The place is amazing, because it offers everyone, from families with children to younger or older people, a large set of fun activities. When outside you have 5 degree Celsius and in the outdoor pool you 32 degrees you start to feel so blessed. And when you can just take a nap in the bungalow near the indoor pool after you enjoyed a water massage, you start to wonder if you are in haven. We were so pleased to spend our entire Saturday there. We even tried the restaurant for lunch and yet again we weren't disappointed. There are days like this that show me the importance of taking the time to rest and simply have fun. We tried every water slide there, even those meant only for the use of children. I didn't try anything in the Spa area this time, but I plan on doing that next time. I don't have a lot of pictures because they have a very strict policy about that, and we managed to "steal" only a few shots.

Weekend Frankfurt Experience

A kiss from Frankfurt to all of you

As you know this weekend we were in Frankfurt and we got to experience a bit of the city's attractions. For example did you know that Frankfurt is considered to be the Manhattan of Europe and that it has two of the four tallest buildings in Europe? Frankfurt through my eyes looks like this: stunning views, great promenade area along the river Main with the famous Eiserner Steg Bridge, great food and shopping area (I treated myself with a pair of nice boots). Not to mention great company from our friends who made this weekend so much special.

Saturday night fever

Last Saturday we decided to go out and party in a club.We didn't do that in a long time, actually it was the first time since we moved in Zurich. Don' t get me wrong, there have been parties and sleepless nights with many laughs but we always had the party at home, with our friends. This reminded me of my clubbing days, back in college, when missing a party in a club was unacceptable. Then you get a job and the working hours take over your life and you start to enjoy more a socializing gathering at a friend's house than a night of really loud music in a club. Still Saturday night was fun and we got to see how the Swiss people party. Pretty much the same as everyone I'd say, and an awesome thing is that they don't allow smoking in clubs so your clothes don't smell like an ashtray. (in Romania non smoking clubs would go out of business :D).

O plimbare in parc....pe gheata!

Aseara, la indemnul unor prieteni, am luat drumul patinoarului din Cismigiu cu intentia clara de a NU patina, pentru ca eu pana la varsta mea venerabila nu am reusit sa imi gasesc echilibrul pe gheata (cred ca la 10 ani, am pus patinele in picioare intr-o vizita pe meleaguri straine, dar cum nimeni nu s-a obosit sa ma ajute sa ma misc cu ele, am renuntat sa incerc convinsa fiind ca sunt un anti talent). Socoteala de acasa nu se potriveste cu cea din targ dupa cum cred ca deja stiti, asa ca in mai putin de 10 minute eram convinsa sa incerc. Si uite asa, cu patinele in picioare ma miscam ca si un robotel printre celelalte gazele care nu aveau nici o treaba cu mine. Dar cum prietenul, la nevoie se cunoaste (sunt plina de vorbe intelepte astazi) sau mai bine zis gasca de prieteni, toti s-au sacrificat, pe rand, sa invete robotelul sa se miste cat mai natural. M-au asistat cu succes si dupa o criza ( nu mai vreau, nu stiu, nu pot, cine a inventat sportul asta ???) am reusit sa merg singura si chiar sa leg cateva miscari care sa semene cu patinajul.

A fost frumos, m-am simtit atat de bine, si am invatat inca odata, ca cel mai usor este sa renunti gasindu-ti diferite scuze, dar daca ai pe cineva care sa te incurajeze si sa iti dea putin avant, ai toata sansele sa reusesti sa faci ce ti-ai propus. Stiu ca suna a cliseu ceea ce tocmai am spus, dar cat este de adevarat! Uneori experiente la care nu te astepti, ca si aceea de a patina (stangaci ce-i drept) pot sa te faca sa vezi viata si dintr-o alta perspectiva. Acum mai ramane sa invat sa conduc in traficul din Bucuresti, sa schiez, sa ma dau cu placa....se baga cineva? Am referinte bune, sau nu!? J
